The Business Psychology Lab
Privacy Notice
How personal information is used when you visit bplinfo.com, contact the Lab or choose to join the BPL Live Community.
Last updated: 4 October 2026
Who is responsible
The Business Psychology Lab Ltd, based in Limassol, Cyprus, operates this website and is responsible for the purposes and use of the personal information described here. For privacy questions or requests, email contact@bplinfo.com.
Visiting the website
You can read the website without creating an account or joining the community. The website is hosted using OpenAI’s ChatGPT Sites service. Hosting and security services may process technical information such as your IP address, browser and device information, requested pages, timestamps and service logs to deliver and protect the website. Our interest in keeping the website available and secure is the legitimate interest for this processing, where applicable.
Contacting the Lab
If you email us, we receive your email address, any name you provide, your message and any attachments. We use this information to respond and manage your enquiry, based on our legitimate interest in communicating with people who contact the Lab. Where an enquiry concerns entering a contract, processing necessary to take steps at your request may instead be based on that purpose. Please avoid sending sensitive personal information or identifiable information about patients, students, colleagues or other people.
Joining the BPL Live Community
The Join buttons open an external registration form hosted by SurveyMonkey. Information you submit to that form is available to the Lab as the form owner. This may include contact details and the interests or preferences you choose to provide; the form itself shows the information requested.
Community updates are voluntary and should be sent only with your consent. Visiting this website, opening the form or emailing an enquiry does not subscribe you. You can withdraw consent or request a change of preferences at any time by emailing contact@bplinfo.com. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of earlier processing. Giving contact details is necessary if you wish to receive email updates; choosing not to join does not affect access to the public website.
Joining is for occasional updates about resources, books, conversations, events and opportunities to contribute. It does not enrol you in research, provide professional support, create a private discussion-group membership or include paid products. Any future research or specific activity will have separate information and, where appropriate, separate consent.
Service providers and external links
Providers supporting website hosting, email and the registration form process information needed for those services. These include OpenAI for hosting, Microsoft/GoDaddy email services for correspondence, and SurveyMonkey for submitted form responses. Access within the Lab should be limited to people who need the information to handle enquiries and community administration. Information may also be disclosed where required by law or necessary to handle legal claims.
External websites have their own privacy practices. When you use SurveyMonkey, its service may also collect technical information and use cookies under its Privacy Notice. LinkedIn is an external link; there is no embedded LinkedIn feed on this site.
International processing
Service providers may process information outside Cyprus and the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Hosting through ChatGPT Sites does not provide a commitment that information remains in Cyprus or the EU. Transfer arrangements depend on the provider and the applicable service agreement. See the ChatGPT Sites Data Processing Addendum and SurveyMonkey’s Privacy Notice for their published arrangements. Contact us for information about the safeguards applicable to information held for the Lab.
Keeping information
Enquiry correspondence is kept for the time needed to answer and follow up on the enquiry, and longer only when necessary for applicable legal obligations or claims. Community contact information is needed while you wish to receive updates. On withdrawal, information should be removed from active mailing use; a minimal record of the withdrawal may be retained to prevent further unwanted contact. Provider logs and backups are subject to the providers’ retention arrangements. You may contact us to request deletion or ask about a particular record.
Cookies
The website uses a simple server-side page-view counter. It stores only daily totals for each public page, without IP addresses, names, email addresses, visitor identifiers, query strings or referrers. No analytics cookies, browser storage, fingerprinting or third-party analytics scripts are used. These aggregate totals help the Lab understand which pages are being read; they do not identify individual visitors or measure unique people. Known automated traffic is filtered, but the figures are approximate.
The statistics dashboard is restricted to the site owner through ChatGPT sign-in. Hosting, security and owner sign-in services may use technologies necessary to operate those services. External services such as SurveyMonkey and LinkedIn have their own cookie settings. The existing hosting and security processing described above remains separate from the aggregate counter.
Your rights
Under applicable data protection law, including the GDPR, you may have rights to access, correct or erase information, restrict its use, receive portable data where applicable, withdraw consent, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. You may object to direct marketing at any time. Send requests to contact@bplinfo.com. We may need proportionate information to verify your identity before acting on a request.
You can also complain to a supervisory authority, including the Office of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection in Cyprus, or the authority in the EU country where you live or work. You do not need to contact us first.
Changes
This notice will be updated when the website or its information-handling arrangements change. The date above identifies the current version.
